These are the most compassionate amazing people I have ever dealt with.
I had to put my parrot that I have had and loved for 40 years. This is the hardest thing I have done.
They made it so much easier by the care and compassion they give.
Jullien was just the most loving young man with a heart of gold.
And the Dr is a beautiful person
Thank you for the love and care you give so generously. π
They have always taken care of my Cockatiel Gus. They immediately jumped into action to find solutions to his health issues. Sometimes it feels like you get guilted by other vets, like you're a bad pet owner, but I have never felt that here with the level of empathy that the express. They are all kind. I have even boarded Gus here when I went on vacation and they took such good care of him. This is his new primary vet now.
Worst exotic clinic. I took a rabbit here a while ago, and it was one of the worst experiences. Our competent vet was out of town, and we had a rabbit starting to bloat, so we were forced to come here. Our mistake. Not only was he misdiagnosed, but they also had given him no pain meds, or iv fluids the whole time he was there. So they just let him continue to bloat. They offered to do surgery, but without being able to place an iv catheter in him or give a correct diagnosis, and with the vet giving us a poor prognosis, we opted to euthanize. I found out that they were going to heart stick him because they couldn't place a catheter. Our regular tech offered to go in and help a non-exotic vet euthanize our roughly 7 lb rabbit. We declined to let them euthanize with a heart stick, were polite the whole time, and I informed the ill-informed vet tech that heart sticking rabbits is not in fact standard practice anywhere we regularly take our rabbits even though she insisted it was everywhere and no one else would be able to get a catheter in. Our regular vet tech was, in fact, able to place a catheter in literally less than 5 minutes start to finish, with 1 poke (I watched).
Their staff is extremely rude on the phone, which matches the vet who is very unprofessional and rude. We found out we were banned when we just tried to get emergent xrays and our vet was out of town, because apparently they don't like it when a client seeks appropriate care elsewhere, even though we were super nice and professional while being firm. I have heard countless first-hand accounts (I do have a list for anyone who is wondering) from others about how their negligence cost them their rabbit's life, and then we personally experienced it. We never would have taken a rabbit there if we had known how they'd treat them or if our regular vet had been in town. They didn't even give a bloating rabbit pain meds! People are much better off taking their exotics to a clinic that actually is competent in caring for exotics. Rip Rocky, we're so sorry π
If you look through her reviews here, most of them are of people losing their animals which is a red flag. I was helping a friend by phone try to get competent vet care and before I could get ahold of our vet she had already made an appt here with non refundable deposit so inspite my warning she came here. And they sent her rabbit home half brain dead with no proper instructions for care or to check temp or anything. She took rabbit 2 days later to our vet, but at that point the rabbit was so far gone she could only be euthanized.
Edit 02-20-24: I said clearly above we only wanted bloodwork and xrays done at wasatch because our vet was out of town, not that we expected them to diagnose or treat. I thought they could maybe handle xrays and bloodwork and all other clinics weren't taking patients that day. Harris is well known for her drama, we had no issues with staff until they tried to convince us the only way to euth a rabbit was heartstick and we refused care. There was no drama or throwing things or calling names or being disrespectful. I simply educated their tech that our vet does, in fact, always euth rabbits with an iv and almost never had to resort to heartstick. We advocated for our rabbit as we do for all the rabbits in our rescue's care, and we were professional on our end. We only use Boehler because she is the literal best rabbit in Utah, and we didn't need her opinion to know the care we received at Wasatch was horrible. We've never had any other vet leave a rabbit untreated for hours. We never refused any pain or motility meds, and we WANTED fluids and a catheter placed because often bloats can be medically treated before surgery is necessary. Also, the tech who easily placed a catheter was also an ex-employee of Wasatch. If she would like a picture of the catheter placed, I can send it. They also did almost the exact same thing to a rabbit yesterday who went in with stasis. Left the rabbit for hours in her own carrier with no treatment.
